Gay Street Project
Primary Bathroom Renovation
This Westwood primary bathroom renovation began after a failed shower pan caused water to leak through the floor and flood the first level of the home. What started as an insurance claim became an opportunity to completely update the space, improving both its appearance and functionality.
The renovation included rebuilding the walk-in shower with a Schluter KERDI waterproofing system, installing a new Victoria + Albert freestanding bathtub, and replacing the double vanity. We also added a floor-to-ceiling storage cabinet and built a half wall to give the toilet area more privacy.
The finished bathroom features a spacious glass-enclosed shower with green accent tile, a freestanding soaking tub, updated fixtures, and additional storage. It's a great example of how a necessary repair can become an opportunity to rethink and improve an existing bathroom.
